City Wide TAXI welcomes you
to the
St. John's
International Airport.
|
|
City Wide TAXI is
the "Official" Airport Taxi Service. This means that we have been
the successful bidders in the competition for sole service provider to the
travelling public, arriving in the St. John's Airport. Beside the St.
John's Airport Arrivals Door, we have taxis waiting to serve you.
|
|
 The taxis are all
supervised by one of our specially trained Airport Dispatchers. The
supervisor will assist you in getting in your taxi as well as provide
information about pricing and helpful ideas for your visit to St. John's.

ALL OTHER AREAS: METER RATES
|
|
|
Meter
rates are charged from any area to the Airport.
|
|
|
<> All
pricing at the airport is set by contract with the St. John's International
Airport Authority, and Transport Canada. The pricing for taxis at the
airport is available from our "Airport Dispatcher", and the
display at the Airport. This rate structure is only for transportation from
the airport and is not the same as the meter fare to come to the Airport.
|
|
The
St. John's Airport is located on the northern side of the city of St.
John's. The community serviced by this airport is approximately a quarter
million people.
|
|
 When you arrive at the
Airport by road, the first thing that you discover is the welcoming St. John's Airport Authority
sign.

The newly rebuilt Airport
Terminal Building reflects in its design our connection to our history as a
shipping port, with masts and sheets, depicting a harbour filled with many
sailing ship masts. Inside the ceiling's decorations depict the sky, and
clouds. The presentation is so masterful, that you could also be convinced
that you are under water. As is shown from the children's play area. Which is
nicely appointed with a model sunken ship, to play on and an included
television, playing children's programming all day long. Once the buried
treasure is discovered and the fisherman, (above), the children can have a
whale of a time letting their imaginations run wild, while the parents sit
on our new, comfortable waiting area seating.
|
|
The spacious Check-In area
is well lit and can accommodate all of the people looking to get boarding
passes. It is separated from the Arrivals area by our food court and the
central stair way leading to the second and third floors of the Airport
Terminal Building. Our security clearance and waiting area is on the second
floor. This area accommodates easy access to the Aircraft Gate Ramps. In
our security area is our Duty Free Shop, a Caf‚ plenty of comfortable
seating and a spectacular view of the Aircraft Ramps and Runways.
|
|

|
|
On our third floor, we have
our museum and visitors viewing area. From here you can read about some of
our aviation history, see the aircraft take off and land, as well as view
your loved ones as they wait to board their flights.
|
|
The entire terminal is a
beautiful, artistic depiction of our place as a port. Both a sea port and an
air port. All of the structure and it's embellishments reflect this common
history and interest in travel. Our comfortable and spacious Airport
Terminal Building is a pleasure to visit and pass through on your journeys.
|
|
May all of your travels be pleasant and safe.
May all of your landings be soft and smooth.
May your visits be happy and memorable.
May all your returns be soon.
